When you buy a CSA share from Alambria Springs Farm, you get much more than just fresh produce. You are building a relationship with your local farm that you can count on and trust to provide you with safe and wholesome food.

You are helping to keep local farms and businesses viable and you are keeping your money local and helping to keep your local economy strong. For every dollar that you spend locally, 45 cents is returned to the community. If that same dollar is spent at a chain store, only 13 cents stays in the community.

In addition you are making significant ecological contributions to your local community by reducing pesticide and herbicide contaminations of your air, water, and soil as well as reducing the large amounts of energy used to transport food thousands of miles before it ends up on your plate. You can take a direct role in protecting and preserving your community for you and future generations, by participating in our CSA Further, there are reports of food shortages and dramatically rising food prices on the horizon. You are enhancing your families' security, as well, by choosing our CSA.

You will discover new flavors and rediscover old varieties that you remember from your grandparents. We offer heirloom and multiple varieties of each produce item while the chain stores have narrowed your selection to one or two varieties at most. Our varieties are bred for taste, not to withstand the challenges of industrial harvesting and shipping. For example approximately 10 different varieties of tomatoes will be added to your box throughout the season versus two choices from a local chain store. Did you know that there is yellow and purple tomatoes, purple cauliflower, yellow, purple, and red carrots? If you join our CSA you will receive gourmet food at a price that you can afford.

Speaking in dollars and cents, if you add up the TRUE RETAIL VALUE of what you receive in your box each week, it would total between $30 and $40 per week. The actual cost to you for a full share of $640 works out to a weekly cost of $27; this is a significant savings. So not only do you get the freshest and most local produce, you also receive this at a 15% to 20% discount under retail. Alambria Springs farm CSA is a FULL bushel box of produce weekly. If $640 or a full bushel box of produce is too much for you. Perhaps a Couples Share for $515 and ³⁄₄ of a bushel each week would work better. We also offer the option to split either of these shares with a partner. Please don't let the money keep you from eating quality food. We can find a way to work together because you and your family deserve the most nutritious food available. We accept Food Stamp payments for our CSA.
