We will resume building this Saturday August 28th to construct the dome of the oven. Should be lots of muddy fun! We ask if you’d like to join us please bring a dish to share. Building will begin at 10am. Please check back for pic’s from last weekend.

This weeks share should include the following:

We  had some rot in the Gourmet salad greens from the rain. We may not have salad greens for a few weeks but promise to be back with our greens as soon as we can!

We are lucky so far with the blight reports coming in all around Alambria. We are still blight free in our Tomatoes. Keep your fingers crossed!

8/8/10 farm update and information

Filed under: Uncategorized — amyyahna @ 8:31 pm

Greetings!

CSA INFORMATION-2011!

We have booked our CSA for the 2010 season. Thank you to all of you that have joined and are supporting Alambria.  Due to the fact that we have received numerous inquiries concerning available shares for 2011, we would like to offer all current members the opportunity to rejoin for 2011 before opening up to the general public for new memberships. Based on our current memberships there will be a limited amount of new shares available for 2011. We will have our updated 2011 Commitment Form accessible on our website along with the special opportunities for our current members within 10 days.  If interested in rejoining for 2011 please do the following by September 15, 2010:

1-Please complete and return your Commitment Form by September 15th.  Please mark share type, pick up location, and any other optional products you may like.

2-Please submit your deposit or payment in full by December 31, 2010.

We are asking this because we anticipate a high renewal rate and because we are commitment to producing the highest quality produce around. Consequently, we need to limit the number of share holders we commit to  for 2011. If you have any questions or concerns at all please call us on the phone(315-837-4769) directly so that we may discuss these with you.

BREAD OVEN!

We will be finishing our earthen Artisan Bread Oven on Saturday August 21st.  If interested please call for details. Rain or shine we will be playing in the mud! See you here.

BROILER CHICKENS!

Due to the response and ongoing demand for our broiler chickens we have taken on another round for the fall. These pasture raised broilers are raised humanely  on organic grain, bugs, grass, and sunshine so they are good for you and the environment! We are selling them for $3.65lb and will be raising to approx. 6lbs. Order today by emailing womandance@frontiernet.netor sign up in the farm store to reserve your birds. We only have a few still available.  These broilers will be finished in approx. 6 to 8 weeks(mid to end of September).  If you would like another round of broilers finishing approx. mid to end of October please contact us so that we may place our order for more chicks by August 13th.  If you would like to have these broilers  grown to a larger size(ie.10-12lbs) we can do so. You would then have the possibility of a pasture raised Thanksgiving chicken!
