About Our Farm
Alambria Springs Farm is a locally supported vegetable and livestock farm located in Lebanon New York. The farm is a mixture of, pasture lands, wood lots, wet lands, spring-fed ponds, streams, and of course our market gardens. We purchased the property in 2000 and after we completed our dwellings, we began the farm in 2004.
We sustainably harvested 70% of the wood for both structures from the property using horses. We enlisted the help of our local timber framer, Robert Mahardy, to construct the frame of both the house and barn.
In addition, we connected with Paul Lacinski, author of Serious Strawbale, and he assisted in applying the first coat of earthen plaster to the straw bale walls. We proceeded to complete the remaining steps of the home with the help of family and community members in work parties. After the completion of our home and barn we began the farm in 2004.
