Farming Practices

field
We farm using a bio-intensive raised bed system for our vegetable crops on 7 acres.

We utilize Biodynamic practices in conjunction with cover cropping, rotational planting, organic compost, and companion planting for natural pest management. We farm "beyond organic standards".

Further we are a NOFA NY "Farmers Pledge" member.

Farmer's Pledge

The following are some but not all of the "Farmers Pledge" practices that we adhere to:
  • Reject the use of synthetic insecticides, herbicides, fungicides and fertilizers.
  • Reject the use of GMO's, chemically treated seeds and synthetic toxic materials.
  • Rotate crops annually, use organic compost, cover crops, green manures and reduce tillage.
  • Reduce food miles by selling produce locally and regionally.
  • Use ethical business practices.
  • Work in cooperation with other local farmers and with neighboring communities.
  • Sustain the land for future generations.
