Alambria Springs Farm

Testimonials

I was absolutely thrilled to find the Alambria Springs Farm CSA. I became a member later in the season (July) due to a hard time finding a CSA that was taking new members. I guess the wait was worth it! The vegetables were always fresh and abundant with a wide variety. I was also pleased to find farm fresh eggs with almost every pick up along with seasonal fruits when available. I felt like I was getting a present every 2 weeks and couldn't wait to see what was in each package. As a bonus to the beautiful vegetables I saved quiet a bit of money by joining the CSA, rather than buying my produce at the grocery store. Can't wait for this year!

Dear Amy and Bryan,

Thank you so much for coming to our area and setting up your CSA. How lucky are we that you should bring your talents and your love for farming to our region at a time when we are all trying harder to buy locally produced foods.

Every week when it was time to go and pick up my CSA box it was like receiving a gift. I never knew what was going to be inside and I was always delighted with the contents. Since our family was going to eat everything in it's raw and natural state; I couldn't have been more pleased with the freshness, the quantity and the quality of every item you included. The gourmet salad greens, the carrots, the beets and tops, the onions and garlic and parsley and herbs, the pumpkins and the kale, the spinach and the kohlrabi and even the sprouts were all delicious. As long as you are willing to offer a CSA program, we will be part of it. Thank you for making it so easy for my family to eat the best that nature has to offer. We look forward to another great season with you.

This was the first year our family was involved with a CSA. I was a bit nervous at first, as I'd heard some stories about other CSA's providing a less than exciting array of produce and I was afraid I wouldn't know what to do with some of the veggies. This proved never to be the case with Alambria Springs!

From out first adventure up the driveway to visit the farm we have all felt comfortable and at ease, like true partners in our share. We received a bountiful quantity and variety of produce from early June to late November. The foodstuffs were always freshly picked (at their peak) and both beautiful to look at and remarkable in flavor. We were provided ample amounts of anticipated staples throughout the season (such as salad greens, beets, cabbages, carrots, onions, garlic and potatoes) and an enviable assortment of 'in-season' varieties as available (like shallots, leeks, tomatoes, broccoli, beans, squash, etc). I cannot say enough how thrilled we were with our share.

Our weekly visits to the farm were also a highly anticipated adventure, Amy and Brian always making time to answer questions or show us something new. We have all missed our weekly pick-up and the produce since the season ended. The first few weeks I felt as though suddenly my cupboards were bare! It has been an incredible blessing for our our family to a part of Alambria Springs Farm for the 2009 season and will continue to be members in the CSA for the foreseeable future.

If you truly care what you and your family eats, this is the place for you.

Alambria Springs Farm has been a godsend. My family and I have bean eating healthier than ever with a continual supply of beautiful, fresh produce. This CSA is just what we have been waiting for. Amy and Brian pride themselves on their service and have often gone out of their way to supply us with fresh produce. We also get the best tasting goat milk I ever had from Alambria.

You two are the real deal. Your vegetables are always pristine, the salad greens outstanding, the tomatoes like I remember them and the garlic and onions superb!

I've been to your place, and I've really been impressed with your dedication to the green life style; IE a straw bale house, wind turbine, solar cells; completely off the grid. The farm itself is really lovely and well cared for.

Good luck guys - I hope to remain a satisfied customer for years to come.

For anyone that has been CSA members before or for those just looking, Alambria Springs Farm is THE BEST CSA. They offer organic, vitamin rich, colorful, great tasting vegetables in such a wide variety. You always get beautiful produce that at times overfills your box. I don't know of any other CSA that offers this much. We are still enjoying produce that we have frozen or stored since fall. From dried beans to juicy tomatoes, we love them all. The fresh colorful salad greens are absolutely my favorite. No one could ask for anything more. All of this and a wonderful, relaxing environment.

I would give them the highest recommendation!

2009 was the first year my husband and I joined a CSA and we're hooked! Not only is it great fun to pick up and eat fresh vegetables all through the summer and fall, our membership turned out to be a great bargain.

I talked to a few other CSA members, locally and around the country and my impression was that Alambria Springs offered a good bit more variety than average. We were offered around 10-20 different items each time we visited. Sadly, 2009 was a terrible year for tomatoes and the heirlooms we set had our taste-buds on, never materialized. However, this was true for everyone, not just Alambria. Amy and Brian did give us some nice round tomatoes.

For those who have never joined a CSA, I will say that there is a lovely atmosphere of camaraderie surrounding the whole experience, in addition to the fabulous fresh, organic vegetables.

It's January now, and I still have several things from Alambria in the fridge and freezer. They include fresh garlic, shallots, beets, carrots, potatoes, rutabaga and cabbage and frozen green beans, leeks, pumpkin and scallions! We're still getting value and nutrition from our membership.

I wholeheartedly recommend membership in Alambria Springs Farm CSA.

My family had a share in this CSA last season, and we are doing it again this year. We had enough to feed our family of four, and do a little freezing and canning. My children loved picking up the produce at the farm, filling up our bags, and eating the fabulous carrots on the way home.

I also did some weeding at the farm, and meet some really nice people. We enjoyed fishing in the pond and visiting the dogs, ducks, geese, horses, cows, goats and farmers!

We were so excited to find this farm close to our new house...we have been CSA members at other farms for years, and this was our best experience! Alambria Springs Farm not only grows delicious local foods, but they are truly commited to beyond organic, biodynamic farming, sustainability, and a traditional "green" lifestyle.
